A estória da Figueira (Fig Tree's Story) is an old Brazilian tale about a little girl who begs for her widowed father to marry the neighbor. She lives alone in her imaginary world; she has a gardener friend who helps her finding meaning and peace. Her father does not want to marry the neighbor, but she begs again and he marries her. As soon as it happens, their life begins to change.

Julia Zakia
Julia Zakia earned her bachelor's degree from Escola de Comunicações e Artes, São Paulo’s University. Fig Tree's Story is her thesis film. Her specializations were direction and cinematography. She has taken part in many of school projects and she has worked for professional cinematographers. She is part of a group called Gato do Parque that study and work together on theatre and movies.
