Awards&Achievements: December 2008

Recognizing recent achievements of Temple faculty and staff.

The Fox School of Business’ bachelor of business administration major in Management Information Systems was named a top 10 U.S. program for information technology by TechRepublic.com, a web community of information technology leaders nationwide. Temple was the only Philadelphia-region school appearing on the list. TechRepublic.com selected the Fox School’s program after evaluating more than 100 undergraduate business-oriented information technology programs nationwide. They based their selection on curriculum, placement, available resources, value and overall strength of each program, and also by interviewing alumni and corporate stakeholders.

James McGuire, associate professor of podiatric medicine and orthopedics at the School of Podiatric Medicine, was named editor of the Compendium of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, which was published in 2008.

WRTI-FM, Temple University’s public radio station, was honored by the ASCAP Deems Taylor Radio Broadcast Award for its outstanding classical and jazz music programming. Dave Conant, executive director/classical host, and Maureen Malloy, jazz music director/jazz host, accepted the award for WRTI.
