While in Singapore, Simon will study the buying of American products and brands and what this means abroad.
Scott Rawls, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences in the School of Pharmacy, was awarded $225,000 for three years from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to study cannabinoid-glutamate interactions in the rat brain.

Jack VanDerhei, associate professor of risk, insurance, and healthcare management at the Fox School of Business, contributed to the U.S. Government Accountability Office report "Private Pensions: Low Defined Contribution Plan Savings May Pose Challenges to Retirement Security, Especially for Many Low-Income Workers." The report was released on Dec. 11 by Rep. George Miller, chair of the House Education and Labor Committee. Much of the analysis in the report was based on VanDerhei's series of studies on 401(k) plans as well as his previous congressional testimony.
