Nov. 26. – Dec. 6: The Ambler Campus Owl Ambassadors are collecting non-perishable food items for the 11th annual Camp Out for Hunger, which benefits Philabundance. For more information, contact Kelly Otis at kotis@temple.edu or 267-468-8101.

Children’s holiday party
Through Dec. 8: The Department of Campus Safety Services seeks donations for its annual children’s party in Mitten Hall’s Great Court. Last year, Campus Safety Services raised enough money to provide toys, food, prizes and entertainment to more than 300 community children.

Toy Drive
Dec. 9: Temple Athletics and Aaron McKie’s AM8 Foundation in partnerships with the Philadelphia Marine Corps are accepting new, unwrapped toys. All toys will be donated to the Philadelphia Marines Toys for Tots program and distributed throughout the Philadelphia community. Suggested toys include: Barbies, LEGOS, Bratz, Electronic hand held games, Fisher-Price brand, sports equipment, Leap Frog band, remote control cars, Disney band, arts and crafts sets and Tonka toys.

Toy drive
Nov. 19– Dec. 14: The School of Pharmacy will be sponsoring a toy drive to benefit patients at the Temple University Cancer Center. For more information contact Rachel Clark-Verti at 2-5113.
Location: Any new unwrapped toy for ages infant to 15 years can be dropped off at the Pharmacy School, 3307 N. Broad St. A box will be at the elevators or in room 502.
Book drive
Through Dec. 15: The Temple University Alumni Association is accepting book donations for Temple’s Partnership Schools. For more information, contact Pat Albright at 215-204-7011.
For the list of books that are needed, follow the following steps:
1. Visit www.amazon.com.
2. Choose “Your Lists” next to the shopping cart.
3. Select “Wish List.” Look for “Find Someone’s Wish List” (upper right corner) and type “Partnership Schools.”
4. Find books you wish to purchase from the list.
5. Forward a copy of your e-order confirmation to partners@temple.edu.

Operation Feed the Hungry 2007 food campaign
Through Dec. 17: Facilities Management is sponsoring a food drive to support local community groups. Donations of non-perishables are needed. Monetary donations should be made payable to “Operation Feed the Hungry” and forwarded to the Office of Facilities Management, 1009 W. Montgomery Ave. Last year, more than 3,168 meals were provided. “Rock To Stop”: Concert for domestic abuse awareness
Nov. 14, 7–9 p.m.: The Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority is hosting a concert to raise awareness of domestic abuse. The concert features Heirloom Projector, With Eyes Like Ours, Mofukis and The Dirty Mac. All proceeds will support the efforts of the Women’s Shelter of Montgomery County. There is no charge for the event, but monetary donations are encouraged. Event T-shirts will be sold for $8. Through Nov. 16: Phi Beta Lambda is teaming up with the Accounting Tutoring Center and is collecting non-perishable Thanksgiving food items (including canned vegetables, canned gravy, instant potatoes and more). Turkey drive
Through Nov. 19, 2 p.m.: Students, faculty and staff are asked to donate frozen turkeys or monetary donations to help ensure a happy Thanksgiving meal for families in the community. Donations benefit the Mattie M. Dixon Community Cupboard in Ambler Borough. All donations of frozen turkeys should be made on Nov. 15, 16 and 19. Monetary donations for the purchase of turkeys and other items essential to a Thanksgiving meal will be accepted through Nov. 19. “Home for the Holidays”: Community of cultures multicultural holiday celebration
Nov. 30, 8 p.m.: Commuters and Residents Together, an Ambler Campus student organization, will host the third annual holiday show. Voluntary donations will be accepted at the door, and proceeds will benefit Wylie’s Day Foundation, which provides funding for medical research toward curing pediatric brain tumors. Faculty and staff holiday celebration
Through Dec. 5: Donations are being accepted for the “Not-So-Silent-Auction,” which will be held at the Ambler Campus faculty and staff holiday celebration on Dec. 12. Donations may include items to be sold in the auction, or wicker baskets, which will be used to package auction items. Proceeds from the auction go to the Sundermeier Award Fund. Location: Wicker baskets and donations can be dropped off in the Ambler Campus Dean’s Office, in the Administration Building. The faculty and staff holiday celebration will take place Dec. 12, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., in the Dining Center.
Clothing drive
Through Dec. 5: Clothing donations of new or slightly worn clothing for ages four to adult are being accepted by Campus Recreation’s Student Staff Community Service CREW.
