Edmund White, currently a professor of creative writing at Princeton University, is a well-known and highly respected novelist and critic whose work includes novels, biographies and short stories. He is best-known for a trilogy of novels that leans heavily on his life as a gay man: A Boy’s Own Story (1982), The Beautiful Room is Empty (1998) and The Farewell Symphony (1998).


From Oct. 29 through Nov. 2, White will be on campus as the Creative Writing Program’s fall visiting writer. In addition to meeting with graduate students in the Creative Writing Program, White will also give a public reading of his work and a lecture on Main Campus.
