| John Kelly, M.D., associate professor of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at the School of Medicine and Hospital, is one of several local doctors to contribute to the Health and Wellness Expert, a new web site launched by Dr. Brian McDonough, a former Temple professor of family medicine and a graduate of the internal medicine residency program. McDonough is a health reporter for KYW Radio and Fox 29.
The site, which launched in June, is designed to offer information on a range of health issues through brief sound bites and written transcripts. Reports are organized by wellness category and by life stage.
Offering his expertise in sports-related injuries, afflictions of the shoulder and knee, preventative medicine and stress management, Kelly has contributed thus far by covering topics including chronic lower back pain, tears in cartilage and rotator cuffs, osteoporosis and how to prevent arthritis.
“Brian McDonough and I are good friends, and he asked for my help with the site,” Kelly said. “Our focus is on how to better service patients — how small sound bites can really give someone accurate information on selected topics.”
