Jermaine F. Williams, coordinator for First Year Student Programs in the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, was elected to the national leadership position of administrative division representative for the National Academic Advising Association. Williams will assume this leadership role at the end of the NACADA Annual Conference, held in October, and will serve in this position until October 2010.

Anuradha Paranjape, associate professor of medicine , Temple University School of Medicine was recognized by the Philadelphia Coalition for Victim Advocacy for her advocacy work in healthcare field for domestic violence victims, on April 18.
Ala Stanford Frey, assistant professor of pediatric surgery at the School of Medicine, received the Shirley Chisholm Award from the Philadelphia Congress of the National Congress of Black Women on April 11.
The Department of Campus Recreation was awarded first place in the integrated marketing campaign category for the Creative Excellence Awards at the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association’s annual conference. The category is considered the grand prize in the CEA presentation. Linda Buonanno, associate director, Jerry Roberts, membership services coordinator, and Christa Barlow, creative services, were recognized as the design team. At the conference Steve Young, director of Campus Recreation, was appointed for a three-year term on the board of directors for the association’s foundation.
