Mandatory Electronic Pay Program information sessions announced

By mid-2008, full- and part-time regular employees who have elected not to sign up for direct deposit will receive their pay through the new Ecount Temple PAYroll card, a Visa debit card for eligible employees that is fast and secure.

An effective date for the changeover will be announced after the Temple University Human Resources Payroll Department has finalized arrangements. At that point, live, paper paychecks will no longer be issued.

In anticipation of the coming change, the university will host information sessions, which are mandatory for all Temple employees who currently do not receive direct deposit. The information sessions will be conducted by a representative from Ecount, the firm with which Temple is partnering on the cards.
 

The sessions are mandatory because Temple University believes it is important that affected employees understand how the Temple PAYroll card works, as well as the benefits of the program.

 
   

The move to PAYroll cards is the last phase of an initiative to eliminate paper paychecks and advices and move to a completely electronic pay for all Temple University faculty, staff and students. The first phase of the project was completed last year, when direct deposit was chosen as the preferred method of pay and paper direct deposit statements (pay advices or statements) were eliminated.
