Sarah Bauerle Bass, assistant professor and director of the undergraduate program in the Department of Public Health, College of Health Professions, published "Who Will Keep the Public Healthy? The Case for Undergraduate Public Health Education: A Review of Three Programs" in the January/February issue of the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice.
Kendrick Whitney, associate professor of podiatric medicine and orthopedics at the School of Podiatric Medicine, was asked to participate as an author and editor for the new Home Edition of the Merck Manual for publication in 2008. He has also been asked to participate as an author–editor for the professional edition of the Merck Manual on Foot and Ankle Problems. Whitney is only the second podiatric physician to contribute to the Merck Manuals.

Kenneth J. Soprano, professor of microbiology and immunology at the School of Medicine, presented “Nuclear Receptors: Co-activators and Co-Repressors,” at the National Constitution Center on Jan. 15. The conference was sponsored by Abcam, Inc.
Chris Pavlides, executive director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute at the Fox School of Business, chaired a panel of five universities on "Designing International Entrepreneurship Courses" during the 2008 Annual Conference of the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship in San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 10–13.
Ahmed M.S. Soliman, professor and associate chair of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the School of Medicine, was invited to deliver Grand Rounds at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the John Hopkins School of Medicine on “Evaluation and Management of Adult Laryngotracheal Stenosis” on Jan. 14.
