Great weather and spirited performances helped bring almost 5,000 people — including state Sen. Shirley Kitchen, 5th District City Councilman Darrell Clarke and City Councilman Juan Ramos — out to the Jazz on the Ave concert festival on May 5.
The festival, which was co-sponsored by WRTI and Beech Community Services and was held in the 1500 block of Cecil B. Moore Ave, featured performances by Monette Sudler, Fortune Vinson Cruse, Kevin Valentine Quartet and Carol Riddick with her band.
The festival also included vendors, children’s rides, face painting and other activities.
