As the inauguration of Ann Weaver Hart approaches, the Temple Times asked the president several questions about herself and her views on life and Temple. Here’s what she said:

My favorite quote: “Well-behaved women seldom make history.” Laurel Thatcher Ulrich.

Technology I absolutely cannot live without: BlackBerry.

A movie I can always watch again: A Room with a View.

My favorite book: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon.

Music currently queued in my player: Norah Jones’ “Not Too Late.”

If I could do college all over again, I would ... go on study abroad.

My first gift to Temple: To the Office of International Programs.

My favorite spot on campus: The owl on Liacouras Walk.

The person — past or present — I would most like to meet: William James.

Favorite weekend activity: Walking around Philadelphia.

My favorite restaurant in Philadelphia is …. Loie, for the fried oyster tartine (close to home and great food).

One piece of advice for a prospective Temple student: Stay open-minded about your career choices and take advantage of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

One piece of advice for a Temple graduate: Stay in touch with Temple, your colleagues and your favorite professors.

Key to raising four kids while maintaining a career: Patience and perseverance.

Something no one would guess about me: I knit.

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I’d go to: White water, non-motorized float in dories down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. (We’re going this July.)

Biggest surprise about Temple compared to what I expected: Temple’s students are more focused, intense, but balanced in their perspective about life than most college students.
