Eric Borguet, of the Chemistry Department at the College of Science and Technology, received a grant from the National Science Foundation for the project, “A Molecular Resolution Investigation of Electron Transfer at Electrochemical Interfaces.” The award provides $176,000 for the first year of support, with total funding estimated at $426,205 for the period July 15, 2008 through July 14, 2011.
Robin Kolodny, associate professor of political science at the College of Liberal Arts, received a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture and conduct research at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom during the 2008-09 academic year. She will study the function of professional political party staff and political consultants in advanced and recently established democracies.
Daniel Szyld, of the Department of Mathematics at the College of Science and Technology, received a grant from the National Science Foundation for the project, “Student and early career support for ISSNLA, July 20-25, 2008, Castro Urdiales, Spain”. The award provides $13,000 for the period July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.
Enrique Hernandez, Abraham Roth Professor and chair of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the School of Medicine, presented “Teaching Colposcopy for the Detection of Precancerous and Cancerous Lesions of the Cervix” in July, while he was a visiting professor at Dubai General Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. |
