Career Preparation
Program Mission
The mission of the MLT Career Preparation program (CP) is to prepare high-achieving minority college juniors and seniors for placement in the leading entry-level business-related jobs that lead to admission to top MBA programs and positions of influence in business and the community.
Guided by experienced MLT staff, college juniors begin a comprehensive curriculum designed to identify career opportunities that fit best with their interests and strengths; develop the skills, competencies and attributes that hiring organizations require; and prepare them for the job search and interviewing process during senior year.
Why should you join the program?
Everyone needs a job after college. MLT puts you in a better position to be competitive in a tough job market. Here are some of the things our students find most valuable about the program:
- Exposure. MLT introduces you to a wide range of business career options through guided workshops and assessment tools
Expert Advice. Volunteer Advisors are successful corporate professionals providing candid advice to prepare you for your job search. Moreover, the MLT staff includes professional coaches with expertise in corporate hiring and career counseling
Personalized Instruction. A long-term, one-on-one relationship with your MLT Coach means you'll receive step-by-step, individualized career instruction over a year-long period.
Skills Development. We don't just help you find a job. We help you prepare to do well in your job by developing your business and analytical skills, with a curriculum developed in partnership with leading corporations who care about diversifying their workforce.
- Job Opportunities. We can refer you to the best job opportunities at leading corporations
All this at NO COST to you!
