North Philadelphia:

Through Their Eyes

Two Children Share Their Communities

By Galena Mosovich

I provided Skyler and Christina with disposable cameras to capture images of their neighborhoods. The purpose of this activity was for them to portray the most significant aspects of their lives.

Skyler Baker

A self-proclaimed "bookworm," Skyler Baker is an Honor Roll student at Paul Lawrence Dunbar School. He is 12 years old and a familiar face at the R.W. Brown Community Center in North Philadelphia.

Christina Peterson

Also known as "Puff," Christina Peterson and her pigtails can be spotted easily at the R.W. Brown Community Center. She is 12 years old and a sixth-grader at Young Scholar's Charter School.
