Tutor-MSRC Main & Ambler Campus (undergraduates only):
Description: Primary function is to assist students with difficulties faced with course material and in understanding of concepts. Hours per week varies but is based on overall need on the schedule.
Requirements: Although many tutors specialize in one topic (i.e. math, chemistry, statistics etc.), a combination of skills (less than minimum requirements) in more than one topic may substitute for the minimum requirements for an overall tutoring position.
Minimum Requirements per subject area include a minimum grade of A- or better in the following courses and/or related experience. Excellent communication skills and ability to relay material in more than one way is desirable. A copy of current transcripts or academic records (resume is optional) must be attached to completed applications.
Mathematics-knowledge in material up to and including Math 1041 (85); Math 1042 (86) & 2043 (127)
Chemistry-General Chemistry 1031 (71) & 1032 (72); Organic Chemistry 2201 & 2202 preferred
Statistics-Stat 1001 (11) & 1102 (12); Stat 2101 (21) & 2102 (22) preferred
Physics- Phys 1061 (87) & 1062 (88); Phys 2021 (121) and 2022 (122) preferred
Note: While you are expected to be able to tutor all courses of your primary subject, combination of multiple subjects will be taken into consideration during the application process
