General Circulation Policy

Anyone with a Temple ID card has access to the resources of the MLC, although the policies are different for undergraduates, graduate/teaching assistants, and faculty/administrators.

Faculty/Administration/TA/GA Guidelines

  • Temple University faculty and teaching assistants may check out resources for use in Temple University courses.
  • TA's and GA's must be approved by the MLC director before full borrowing privileges are granted. An application must be completed by the student, and signed by the chair of their department. Applications will be acted upon within 48 hours after they are received by the MLC. TA/GA approval does not automatically renew, so a new application is required each academic year.
  • A valid Temple ID must be presented in order to borrow materials.
  • A maximum of three resources may be borrowed for no longer than three days at a time. Resources may be renewed if they are not reserved for another patron.
  • Resources not picked up as scheduled will be released for use by other instructors. A one day grace period is permitted.
  • Reservations are taken for all resources on a first come, first served basis. Videos may be obtained without a reservation, although reservations are highly recommended.
  • It is imperative that resources are returned on time. The MLC reserves the right to revoke borrowing privileges if resources are consistently returned late.
  • Slide folders may be borrowed for a maximum of one week.
  • For your convenience, videos may be dropped off in the express video return slot in the door to the left of the checkout counter.
  • A preview room is available for faculty and TA's to view media resources.
Undergraduate Guidelines
  • Resources may be viewed by students in the MLC lab.
  • Headphones are necessary for in lab viewing and are not provided by the MLC.
  • A valid Temple ID must be presented for in lab viewing.
  • Resources may not be taken from the MLC lab by students.
