16 Temple university HOSPITAL physicians recognized in philadelphia magazine's annual "top doctors" issue

A total of 16 Temple University Hospital physicians have been recognized as "Top Doctors" and "Rising Stars" by Philadelphia Magazine as part of its 2009 ranking of area healthcare providers.

 

Twelve Temple physicians earned a spot on the annual "Top Doctors" list for excellence in their individual specialties. (As in years past, Philadelphia Magazine hired Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., to conduct the survey.)

 

This year's Temple "Top Doctors" are:

 

  • Gary Cohen, MD, Interventional Radiology
  • Gerard Criner, MD, Pulmonary Disease
  • Satoshi Furukawa, MD, Thoracic Surgery
  • Bennett Lorber, MD, Infectious Disease
  • Kenneth Mangan, MD, Hematology
  • James McClurken, MD, Thoracic Surgery
  • Santiago Munoz, MD, Gastroenterology
  • William Reinus, MD, Diagnostic Radiology
  • Joel Richter, MD, Gastroenterology
  • John Rombeau, MD, Colon & Rectal Surgery
  • Ellen Tedaldi, MD, Internal Medicine
  • F. Todd Wetzel, MD, Orthopedic Surgery


In addition, four Temple physicians were named "Rising Stars," which honors the area's best physicians under 40 for their innovative work.

 

The Temple "Rising Stars" include:

  • Mark Seamon, MD, Trauma Surgeon
  • Michael Weaver, MD, Neurosurgeon
  • Alliric Willis, MD, Oncological Surgeon
