General Information

 

The Biostatistics Consulting Center offers comprehensive statistical consulting and computational services to faculty, staff and students of Temple University School of Medicine, Temple University Health System, and the Health Sciences Center.

 

The Biostatistics Consulting Center assists researchers with all phases of basic science, clinical and epidemiologic research.

 

The following biostatistical consulting services are available:

  • Hypothesis development
  • Study design and methodology
  • Sample size and power calculation
  • Randomization schedules
  • Data management strategies
  • Data analysis and hypothesis testing
  • Data presentation
  • Curve fitting
  • Manuscript review
  • Grant proposal review and consultation
  • Questionnaire design
  • IRB proposal review

Courses and Seminars

 

A graduate course in Biostatistics is offered in the fall semester.  Epidemiology and Biostatistics is offered as part of the second year medical school curriculum.  Seminars in particular biostatistical areas are available and are usually sponsored by individual departments.

Authorship Policy

 

Co-authorship of scientific journal articles is generally expected on studies where substantive input on design and/or analysis is provided.
