Research Interests:

 

Dr. Schneck codirects the Medical Gross Anatomy course and teaches in the Medical Neuroanatomy Course. He presents elective courses to first, second and fourth year medical students and delivers intramural and extramural courses and invited presentations at the postgraduate and continuing medical education level to practicing physicians in many medical specialties. Dr. Schneck also publishes clinical anatomy and imaging papers and chapters in the journals and textbooks of these medical specialties.

  1. Dr. Schneck is currently involved in a variety of anatomic and imaging studies of clinical significance:
  2. Characterization and incidence of a previously undescribed first rib fibrous band as a potential cause of thoracic outlet syndrome.
  3. Doppler, ultrasound and phase contrast MRI analysis of the relative venous return from the brain within the internal jugular and internal vertebral venous plexus under varying postural conditions.
  4. Spiral CT three dimensional reconstruction of the segmental subdivision of the liver to confirm the inadequacy of the current segmental terminology.
  5. Spiral CT three dimensional reconstruction of the varying orientation of the renal hilus at different axial levels of section.
