Research Interests:

 

To evaluate the morbidity, mortality, and long-term efficacy associated with intensive medical therapy plus pulmonary rehabilitation in comparison to Lung Volume Reduction Surgery via median sternotomy plus intensive medical therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation on pulmonary function, quality of life, morbidity, mortality, performance of the activities of daily living.

 

To determine if long-term ventricular assist support increases survival and quality of life vs. medical management in patients who are not candidates for heart transplantation.
