Department of SurgerySection of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
In addition to managing simple and complex wounds, our plastic surgery group offers cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery including breast reconstrution after mastectomy, microvascular reconstructions and TRAM flaps, and complex reconstructions for skin cancers. Other surgical innovations include craniofacial reconstructions including bone grafts and microvascular tissue transfers, as well as reimplantations, and the treatment of facio-maxillary and extremity injuries. The comprehensive Hand/Upper Extremity Center, under the direction of the Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, is a multi-disciplinary facility specializing in the care of simple and complex hand and arm injuries and problems, including work related injuries. The Center is one of a few in the area to offer reimplantation for amputated digits and extemities.
