Department of SurgerySection of Pediatric Surgery
The Section of Pediatric Surgery provides comprehensive surgical care for children from newborns to age 18 years. All aspects of general pediatric and neonatal surgery, non-cardiac thoracic surgery, selected urological procedures, and trauma surgery services are available.
The Section is actively involved in the management of pediatric trauma patients admitted to the Level-1 trauma center at Temple University Children's Medical Center.
The Section has a special interest in the use of laparoscopy and thoracoscopy in children. In addition, the Section collaborates with Pediatric Neurosurgery, Pediatric Urology and the Shriner's Hospital for Children in utilizing minimally invasive technology in the care of infants and children.
