Journal Club:
Usually a dinner event held 1 to 2 times a month, two residents present each a minimum of two topics determined by the Chief resident, which are then discussed at length among both the residents, fellows and attendings.
In addition, numerous scientific talks and symposia are held at Temple and at other institutions in Philadelphia. These include the annual Temple Spine Symposium, the Pan Philadelphia Neurosurgery Conference and the twice a year Pennsylvania Neurosurgical Society Conference. Residents also often present original research at the annual meetings of both the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). Temple residents are encouraged to take advantage of this abundance of intellectual opportunity.
