Internal Medicine Residency Program Application Information

We are taking applications via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Program of the AAMC. The following letters are required:

  • Dean's letter
  • Department of Medicine Chair's letter
  • Two letters from faculty members

Each year, our program has traditionally matched a few highly competitive international medical graduates. Requirements for consideration for an interview include:

  • Application (Electronic Residency Application Services - ERAS)
  • Valid ECFMG certificate (or passing both USMLE Steps I and II, CSA and English exams)
  • Three letters of support
  • Dean's letter
  • Copy of medical school transcript
  • Medical school graduation within 5 years of starting internship
  • USMLE scores of 85 or greater
  • Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Preference will be given to those applicants with clinical experience in the US (any duration), research experience, and/or letters from US faculty
  • We sponsor J1 visa for all candidates. A consideration for H1B visa sponsorship (no cap) is made on an individual basis, depending on the availability of USMLE step 3 results.

All candidates completing these requirements will be considered by the Residency Selection Committee on a competitive basis with graduates of US medical schools.
