department of medicineInternal Medicine Residency ProgramFor Applicants
Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine training programs at Temple University Hospital. We offer a three-year categorical medicine program to all interested applicants. It is our hope that the information here is useful in helping you to choose the residency program that best fits your needs.
The mission of our training program is to develop master clinicians with the skills necessary to become leaders in medical education, research, and service in a variety of health related fields.
The clinical care provided by our graduates will be patient-centered, compassionate, respectful, and grounded in a broad base of knowledge that is constantly updated with current literature. Our graduates will be independent and critical thinkers sufficiently adaptable to care for diverse patients in diverse settings. Our Program is dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the North Philadelphia community we serve.
The organization of medical education in America is rapidly changing. We will embrace this change and adapt to it while still promoting the core values of ownership, responsibility, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
We are committed to working with each of our trainees to optimize the training experience to best fit the individual's needs. The combination of a diverse patient population, an outstanding and dedicated faculty, and a strong research institution provides residents in our program with the necessary ingredients for a rich and diverse educational experience.
