Bone marrow transplants give patients a chance to beat diseases once believed to have no cure. Some kinds of leukemia and lymphoma were considered untreatable a generation ago. The Fox Chase-Temple Bone Marrow Transplant Program is in its 19th year and has now performed over 900 transplants.

Giving and Volunteering

Dear Friends and Relatives of Fox Chase-Temple Bone Marrow Transplant Recipients:

Many of our patients' friends and relatives have asked how they may support the ongoing work of the Fox Chase-Temple Bone Marrow Transplant Program. Donations of any magnitude are always appreciated at any time. We use these funds to support some aspects of patient care and education, to support staff education and development, and to support our laboratory and clinical research effort in various ongoing BMT projects. Contributions can be made in honor of a patient or loved one and can be a thoughtful way of recognizing a special event.

The Fox Chase-Temple BMT Program has a Gift Fund account available to receive any donations less than $10,000. In order to ensure that your donation will be credited to the Fox Chase-Temple BMT Program, it is important to instruct your contributors to write their checks out to the Fox Chase-Temple BMT Program, c/o Temple University. Please indicate in whose honor the donation is intended. Our office will acknowledge the donor with a return letter and send a copy to the immediate relative (wife, husband, etc.) of the transplant patient. It is important that checks are written specifically to the Fox Chase-Temple BMT Program, c/o Temple University and directed to my office to be properly credited to the BMT Program. All checks should be sent to:

Kenneth F. Mangan, MD, FACP
Director, Fox Chase-Temple BMT Program
Friends Hall Physicians Building
7604 Central Avenue - Ground Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19111-2442

For those friends or relatives of BMT patients who wish to contribute a more substantial donation (greater than $10,000), we would be happy to direct you to University officials in our Office of Institutional Advancement to discuss the specifics of your request. Please contact me at 215-214-3129 first if you wish to set up a large donation to support the Fox Chase-Temple BMT Program in honor of your loved ones.

As always, we appreciate any donations large or small which will help in our work to improve the lives of our patients.

Thank you in advance for your generous support.

Sincerely,

Kenneth F. Mangan, MD, FACP
