fox chase temple bone marrow transplant program
Staff
The Fox Chase-Temple Bone Marrow Transplant Program is staffed with the following personnel:
- Full-time dedicated BMT physicians, all board-certified hematologists and/or oncologists with extensive experience in the care of either allogeneic or autologous transplant recipients.
- Temple University hematology-oncology fellows assist in the care of patients.
- Transplant coordinator RNs perform donor searches, arrange pre-transplant testing and provide medical letters for insurance carriers.
- A financial coordinator assists in obtaining insurance contracts and provides financial counseling of patients.
- Our certified physician assistants provide clinical outpatient support for patients.
- Full-time social workers provide patient assessments and emotional support for patients and families.
- Stem cell processing laboratory technologists prepare stem cells and bone marrow for transplant.
- An inpatient/outpatient nurse manager supervises all nursing activities.
- Our certified apheresis nurses collect peripheral blood stem cells and perform therapeutic photoapheresis.
- Dedicated inpatient and outpatient BMT nurses are maintained at one nurse to a two-three patient ratio.
- A computer programmer and data managers assist in data collection and maintain protocols.
- Radiation therapists perform TBI at the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
- A dedicated BMT Program pharmacist oversees high-dose therapy.
- Board-certified consultants are available in all disciplines.
