department of PharmacologyResearch Programs
The Department of Pharmacology is located on the third floor of the Medical Research Building; in addition, it utilizes space in the second and third floors of the Old Medical School and Kresge Science Hall.
There are 14 full-time faculty members, four members with secondary appointments, and several members with adjunct appointments in the Department of Pharmacology.
The Department has major commitments in the areas of molecular, cellular, cardiovascular and neuropharmacology research. In addition, the Department interacts closely with other basic science, clinical, and research departments including:
Most modem research instrumentation and facilities are available through shared resources of the School of Medicine. These include a transgenic mouse facility and FACS analysis. The Department of Pharmacology itself has a number of core facilities, including cell culture facilities.
