Following lunch and class photos, alumni had the opportunity to tour the new Medical Education and Research Building with medical student tour guides. For some alumni, this was the first time in many years that they had seen the Health Science Campus and the new constructions since their graduation.

The evening Alumni Awards banquet was held at the Grand Ballroom at the Bellevue in Center City. Darilyn Moyer, MD ’85, president of the Medical Alumni Association Board of Directors, served as the program emcee. Dr. Larry Kaiser, Dean of the School of Medicine, provided the State of the School address in which he shared with the alumni the many developments at Temple Health over the past year.

“I came to Temple with a vision, to establish Temple Health as an acknowledged leader in academic medicine. I am proud to say we have done much to expand the reach of the ‘Temple T,’ while maintaining our enduring commitment to serving the health needs of North Philadelphia,” he said.

Dr. Moyer presented the annual alumni awards to Theodore Wagner, MD ’68 (Alumni Service Award), Jonathan Ellen, MD ’88 (Alumni Achievement Award), and Alfred Michael, MD ’53 (Alumnus of the Year Award).
