Announcing the Kresge Challenge

The Kresge Foundation has pledged a $1 million challenge grant to Temple University School of Medicine for the new building.  In order to qualify, we must raise $3.22 million in new gifts and pledges for the Carson Scheck and related building fund raising efforts by June 30, 2009.  If we are successful, the Kresge Foundation will then award its $1 million grant as the capstone gift to complete our new building campaign.  All new gifts and pledges to the Schneck campaign made between December 13, 2007 and June 30, 2009, will count toward the Kresge Challenge. The Kresge Foundation supported the campaign for Kresge Hall, the building that has been the School's primary medical education building since 1968.

A Message from the Campaign Co-Chairs

Thousands of alumni and current students know the honor of learning gross anatomy from Carson Schneck. Now we have an opportunity to honor him with a campaign to dedicate the gross anatomy laboratory in the new medical school building in his name.

As father and son graduates--both grateful recipients of Dr. Schneck's amazing enthusiasm and knowledge base--we are privileged to lead the Carson D. Schneck Gross Anatomy Laboratory Campaign.

Dr. Schneck has taught generations of medical students and residents and continues to teach today with the same enthusiasm he showed us. We now have an opportunity to honor Dr. Schneck in a manner that he not only earned but also deserves.

We are proud to lead the way and are grateful for your consideration of support. Please feel free to contact either of us to discuss the campaign further. Our contact information is provided below.

On behalf of our fellow committee members, Dean Daly, and the entire Medical School family, we ask that you be as generous as you can with your gift. Our goal is to raise $1 million by May 31, 2009.

Please contact us. We'd love to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Yucha, MD'70, MRES'77, Committee Co-Chair

David T. Yucha, MD'02, MRES'07 Committee Co-Chair
