Is Technology Making a Difference?
We've all heard of the wonderful things technology integration can do for the classroom, but what does it really look like when done well? In this video see how two fifth-grade teachers have made technology an everyday presence in the classroom with wireless laptop computers. With a 2:1 student-to-computer ratio, Nancy Carnevale and Terry Bolick have created an environment where computers are just another tool to support their curricular objectives and meet the state standards. Included are observations by parents, teachers' comments about how computers aid the writing process, examples of math and social studies activities, the creation of student electronic portfolios, classroom footage, and data proving that technology really makes a difference.
