and exemplify high learning expectations for economically disadvantaged
students. At least 40% of the school's student population must be eligible for
the free or reduced school lunch program. Applicants must develop an original
lesson plan or thematic unit. The grant funds resource materials, supplies,
equipment, transportation, or other costs related to field trips. Applications
must be postmarked no later than June 15, 2003.
Win A
Wireless Lab: CDWoG and Discovery Channel School have partnered to give
away a Wireless Computer Lab complete with 20 Hewlett Packard Notebook
Computers, Netgear Wireless Cards and on-site set up. Deadline for entries is
June 30, 2003.
CyberLearning Grants:
CyberLearning provides 10%-100% matching grants to all eligible organizations
including schools, colleges, nonprofits, government agencies, and corporations.
Matching grants may be used to access CyberLearning's 1,000 plus high-quality
online courses in IT (Information Technology-all levels and almost all topics),
Management (Harvard ManageMentor modules), and TestPrep (Barrons SAT, TOEFL).
They also assist grantees in implementing holistic CyberLearning or TTCM
(Teacher/Mentor-Technology-Courseware-Motivation) solutions.
"CXO" Ethics Essay
Scholarship: To enter this competition, students are asked to write a
900-word essay on the question of what ethics means to them: Do ethics impact
your friendships? Schoolwork? How you interact with your parents? Teachers?
Coworkers? With all the news about Enron, WorldCom, politicians, and religious
leaders in trouble, the purpose is to explore how "ethics" (or lack of them)
have affected these current situations. Entry deadline is May 30, 2003.
