"My Teacher is the Best" Essay
Contest : The website
givekidsgoodschools.com is giving away a laptop to the winner and his/her
teacher. Students should write about their favorite teacher and why he or she is
so special. The deadline for submitting is May 31, 2003
SMARTer Kids
Research: This program was created to help educators research the
effects of technology on teaching and learning and to publish the results of
these studies.
Each participant conducts a 6- to 8-month study of a learning environment that
includes a SMART Board interactive whiteboard. The project culminates with a
final research paper that details the study's outcomes. Projects most likely to
be chosen are those that have a clear research goal and that focus on learning
processes. The Foundation will loan successful applicants a SMART Board 560
interactive whiteboard and Floor Stand with which to conduct their study.
Proposals are evaluated as they are received.
2003 TI Keyboard Collaboration Grant Program: Qualified applicants
receive 30 TI Keyboards, 30 TI-83 Plus Silver Edition graphing handhelds, and 1
ViewScreen. The other option is 30 TI Keyboards and 1 ViewScreen package.
Applications must be postmarked by June 1, 2003. For more information, visit

Apple iLife Educator
Award Teachers who use innovative, curriculum-based iLife projects and
lesson plans can send them to Apple for a chance to win technology for both you
and your school. The first prizewinning school will get a Mobile Digital Media
Studio, which includes iBooks, scanner, and digital cameras. The winning teacher
will get an Apple PowerBook. The deadline is June 13, 2003.
