This pilot has only begun to scratch the surface of possibilities. While QUEST students can continue to design effective webpages and lessons using nothing more than web publishing software, they can also learn to create original graphics and use scanners, digital cameras, microphones, and video equipment to produce files that lead to multimedia productions. This type of page development can be used not only to reinforce content learning but to provide real-world opportunities for using technology.

.As Fairleigh Dickinson University prepares its students to move into elementary and secondary classrooms and into systems requiring documentation of competencies in relation to standards, e-portfolios provide an exciting opportunity. The e-portfolio has the power to engage and motivate the learner while addressing the promise of managing and organizing expanding sources of information. It also holds the power necessary to shift a paradigm from a teacher-directed classroom to a student-centered one.
