Technology Coordinators Network

The technology director or coordinator is a relatively new position in educational agencies. For the most part, these individuals work independently within a district to purchase, distribute, maintain, and develop policy around the technology used within the district. As networks, security issues, and tools become more complex, so do the responsibilities of technology coordinators.

The Technology Coordinators' Network grew out of MAR*TEC's 2002 Access and Equity Conference. Since then, MAR*TEC has hosted a series of conference calls to provide regional collaboration among technical assistance providers. The Technology Coordinator's Handbook is a compilation of information obtained from this conference call series. The chapters will appear biweekly beginning December 1, 2004.
