The MAR*TEC demonstration school program continues to support schools in a variety of ways according to MAR*TEC's eight critical components to successful technology integration, which describe the necessary conditions that a school should create in order to utilize technology in meaningful ways:
- Creating a Vision
- Defining Needs
- Curriculum and Learning
- Parents and Community
- Funding
- Staff Development
- Infrastructure
- Evaluation
It would be an enormous task to support each of the schools in every area; therefore, MAR*TEC has taken a collaborative approach with each of the schools to determine where the focus should be placed in providing support. The results of this approach have been successful in targeting areas of interest among its teaching and administrative staff. While MAR*TEC may focus on different areas in different schools, it aims to support matters that originate from within the school, taking ideas and initiatives as fodder for its work and plans to continue this approach through Year 3 and beyond. The following section describes how MAR*TEC is working with each of its demonstration schools within selected critical component areas to complement and contribute to each school's overall technology plan.
