There are six basic questions that you can use as a starting point when reviewing the accessibility of instructional software.

.Can the software be manipulated using only a keyboard, without use of other input devices (such as a mouse)?

.Does the software override personal operating system settings, accessibility features, or color and contrast settings?

.Does the software use flashing or blinking images?

.Is color used as the sole means to convey information?

.When images, icons or animation are used, is the information offered in another format? (i.e. text boxes, narration, etc.)

.Is the software compatible with a screen reader?
