The SLLC is supported by LSS and the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL). This project is a network of 24 institutions and organizations across the country that were awared School Leadership Grants from the U.S. Department of Education to support the development of school leaders who could be successful in low-performing schools. The awardees include school systems, colleges and universities, and not-for-profit organizations, working collaboratively to conduct an array of training activities and leadership development opportunities for current principals and assistant principals, and aspiring principals. Funds to support the learning community were provided by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement.

As part of this effort, LSS and IEL are holding this face-to-face meeting for policy center leaders. They will pay for lodging for out-of-town attendees and on-site meals for all who attend the meeting.
