In addition to the
Supplemental Services
program
mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, there
is a Pennsylvania program titled
Classroom Plus.
Both programs are free and encourage parents to find
providers of academic tutoring for their children, but
each of the programs has different requirements and
methods.
The table below specifies the key differences between
the Supplemental Services program and Classroom Plus,
but parents are advised to explore the links provided to
familiarize themselves with both programs.

Pennsylvania Program of Instruction,
information from the Pennsylvania Code concerning the
laws governing what is taught and how we are to be
informed. (The PA code states that each school shall
observe and comply with all curriculum requirements
contained in the public school laws. It further states
that written planned course outlines shall be on file
for subjects taught and that planned course outlines
shall describe the following: (1) Goals and student
learning objectives. (2) General content, methods, and
materials used to accomplish goals and objectives. (3)
Strategies for evaluation of pupil progress. (4)
Expected levels of student achievement.)
