Haven’t seen the campus yet? The Welcome Center is the first stop for our new students and parents. The facility includes a reception area and a 100-seat auditorium. Come by for a 45 minute walking tour of campus.

IBC Open Hours

Event Time: 11:00AM – 9:00PM
Event Location: 15th & Cecil B. Moore Avenue

The Independence Blue Cross Student Recreation Center provides students, employees and alumni of the University with a variety of recreational opportunities. You will need your student ID for access. Learn more about IBC.

2nd Floor Fitness Mezzanine

Event Time: 11:00AM – 6:00PM
Event Location: 1800 N. Broad Street

The Fitness Mezzanine is 2,200 sq. ft. and features 12 cardio machines, 8 selectorized pieces, interactive Xbox Kinect and Nintendo Wii gaming stations, and 2 heavy bags and 2 speed bag workout stations. You will need your student ID for access.

Temple Fest

Event Time: 12-4:00PM  
Event Location: Liacouras Walk and Polett Walk

After you have moved in, join us for this outdoor festival.  It’s a perfect mix of business and fun. You may get all the information you need about student organizations, area vendors and campus departments such as Campus Safety Services, Dining Services, and Education Abroad.  Enjoy music, giveaways and games as you get your first taste of Temple!

Parents’ Tent

Event Location: Founders Garden

Parents, need a break from move-in? Join us under the tent for FREE food, relaxation and opportunities to meet other parents. Mix and mingle with athletic coaches, faculty members and student services staff. Get a FREE massage. This space is designed especially for parents.

TUF Open Hours                                                                               

Event Time: 12:00-8:00PM
Event Location:  1600 N. Broad Street

TUF is a Campus Recreation fitness facility with nearly 16,000 sq. ft. of space that includes: cardio machines, selectorized machines, light weights and stretch/ab/core areas. You will need your student ID for access. Learn more about TUF

Pearson and McGonigle Halls, 3rd Floor Rec Courts

Event Time: 12:00-8:00PM
Event Location:  1800 N. Broad Street

The Pearson and McGonigle Halls Rec Courts facility is 32,000 square feet of space divided by 3 mechanical curtains that can section off four indoor multi-purpose court areas or be raised to allow for full area events such as: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton & a Golf Driving Range.  You will need your student ID for access.

Climbing Wall

Event Time: 1:00-6:00PM
Event Location: 1800 N. Broad Street (Atrium)

Recreational climbing is available featuring a 26-foot climbing wall and a 12-foot bouldering wall.  Equipment available for recreational use include harnesses, carabiners and climbing shoes. You will need your student ID for access.

Separation and the Empty Nest

It can be difficult when your student leaves home for a variety of reasons. This talk with the counseling center director and other parents about the transition is meant to be supportive and informative.

Legacy Families Reception

Incoming students whose parents or grandparents went to Temple are considered "Legacy students" and carry on the great tradition of being an Owl. Please join your fellow Legacy students and their families for an ice cream social!

Second Annual Veterans Welcome Program

Event Time: 3:00-6:00PM
Event Location: Howard Gittis Student Center, The Underground

Find out everything you need to know about the various G.I. Bill benefits, and gain a complete understanding of the certification process at the university. Come meet key university veteran representatives and hear about career and internship opportunities, money matters, and the tools you will need to successfully navigate your way through the various student services available to you.  Meet and mingle with veteran advisors, members of the University Veterans Task Force, Temple Veterans Association (TVA), and maybe even a surprise guest or two.  Plus, there will be delicious food and door prizes.  For more information, please visit www.temple.edu/veterans.  Sponsored by Temple Veteran Affairs, University Veterans Task Force and Temple Veterans Association.
