Membership

The staff and editorial board of the Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review is comprised entirely of current students at Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Members are chosen solely based on their performance in the Write-On Competition run by the Temple Law Review.

Each year, the TPCRLR, along with Temple Law's three other student-run, scholarly journals (The Temple Law Review, The Temple Journal of Science, Technology & Environmental Law, and The Temple International & Comparative Law Journal), participates in Temple Law School's "Write-On" Competition to determine which students will comprise its student membership for the following year.

The TPCRLR examines the quality of the Write-On essay, the applicants' grade point average, and a required personal statement. The Write-On process is the only way to become a staff member of this publication.

The competition begins after the last scheduled exam, and is open to all Temple Law students with at least one year left of school. Each competing student must purchase or download a fairly comprehensive packet of materials, which they will use to write a ten-page note, not including endnotes, discussing the selected cases, statutes, and secondary sources, as well as analyzing where the law is headed in light of their discussion. Information regarding the Write-On Competition will be provided by the Temple Law Review in the Spring semester of each year.
