The Journal

The Temple Journal of Science, Technology & Environmental Law (TJSTEL), formerly known as the Temple Environmental Law & Technology Journal, is the second oldest student managed publication of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. This unique journal is published twice annually, and is edited by a highly motivated staff of law students chosen for their outstanding academic achievement and writing ability. TJSTEL also hosts an annual symposium, bringing leading practitioners and scholars together for the purpose of exploring and debating the novel and complex legal issues presented by science, technology, and environmental law.

Temple University's Beasley School of Law and the Temple Journal of Science, Technology & Environmental Law (TJSTEL) are pleased to invite you to this year's annual symposium: Intellectual Property: Innovating Locally, Protecting Globally. The symposium will take place on Friday, February 27, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shusterman Hall, which is located on Temple University's main campus. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Attendees may receive up to 5 CLE Credits (4 Substantive and 1 Ethics CLE credits available, approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board). Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This year's symposium will address the various legal issues encountered by intellectual property right holders and attorneys in acquiring and protecting their intellectual property rights on the global stage. The symposium will include discussions about how multinational companies and inventors are thinking globally and the challenges faced in acquiring, managing, and enforcing their rights internationally.
