Lydia Perez-Velez,
Teaching Assistant

Lydia Perez-Velez, a Puerto Rican, started
her PhD at Temple University, TESOL Program (Teachers of English to
Speakers of Other Languages), in Fall 2003. She earned her Master of
Arts in TESOL at Temple University (2002), and a Bachelor of Arts in
TESOL at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (2000). Lydia
has being working for Temple's ITA Program since Fall 2003. Her
recent interests for research include the applicability of an L2
user based instructional model in the training of ITAs. She enjoys
scrap booking photographs, traveling, and participating in an array
of church led community service projects.

Mariele Flores, Graduate Extern

Mariele
was born in Brazil and received
her B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County
in 2000. During her undergraduate years, she became a member of
Phi Beta Kappa.
In the Spring of
2007, she
joined Temple University to pursue a Master’s degree in TESOL.
She is interested in studying second language acquisition
methodologies and the role of students’ motivation in learning.
She enjoys reading, cooking, and being outdoors.
