U.S. Homeland Security Dept. Creates Web Site to Help
International Students
September 16, 2011
The U.S. Department
of Homeland Security announced on Friday a new website to help international
students and scholars study in the United States. The Web site will be a
"one-stop shop" for information on visa qualifications and compliance, exchange
opportunities, and practical advice, like how to obtain a driver's license in
the United States. The secretary of homeland security, Janet Napolitano,
unveiled the site in a visit to the University of Wisconsin at Madison and said
it was part of a broader effort by the government to help smooth the way for
educational visitors from abroad.
