CALL FOR PAPERS

Phenomenology Roundtable - 2007, June 15-17, Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI

The Phenomenology Roundtable announces its seventh annual meeting, to take place at Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, June 15-17, 2007.

As our mission statement reads, "We recognize Husserlian phenomenology as our ground and as the proper method of philosophical analysis, and work from this perspective in dialogue with other phenomenological perspectives." In this spirit, we invite papers that deal with issues, theoretical and praxiological, from a phenomenological perspective. Also, as the Roundtable is a "working group," we ask that papers are "works-in-progress."

As usual, depending on how many participants we have, we plan to dedicate between 45 minutes and 1 hour for each presenter. Since we distribute our papers beforehand, we ask that participants plan not to read their papers during their time-slots. Instead, we ask that participants spend no more than 15 minutes outlining their projects and directing the Roundtable to the points that they would like us to explore. This will leave the majority of our time open for meaningful discussion.

Our invited guest for this meeting is Burt Hopkins (Seattle University).

Notification of intent to present: April 13th

Papers due: May 21st (but as early as possible)

Please send your notification of intent to present and your paper to: phenomenology_roundtable@yahoo.com.

The fees for this year's Roundtable are: $30 for students and $50 for faculty.

Thank you,

Michael J. Monahan

ACCOMMODATIONS

There are several options for accommodations.  The newly refurbished “Ambassador” hotel is very close to campus, and the rooms are quite nice.

There is a lovely bed and breakfast closer to the lake (though still an easy drive or bus-ride from campus).
