A SHARPER IMAGE
Japan's Sharp Corp. has developed what it claims is the world's largest wide-screen, LCD high-definition television set, featuring a 28-inch screen that is only 2.3 inches wide and can be mounted on a wall, the Japanese business daily Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported today (Tuesday). The HDTV set reportedly provides vivid detail and no loss of brightness even when viewed from the sides. The sets, carrying a retail price of about $9,000, are expected to go on sale in Japan as early as next January.
