Richard Allen Burns, Ph.D.Rick Burns spent four years in the Marine Corps after high school, earned two undergraduate degrees, taught high school for four years, then received his PhD in anthropology/folklore at the University of Texas in Austin. He is currently an associate professor of English and Folklore at Arkansas State University. While pursuing research on folklife in the Arkansas Delta, he continues his research on military and prison folklore. Burns also organized and chaired paper sessions on military folklore at annual meetings of the American Folklore Society. Bibliography |
