As a unit within the Provost Office, the Department of Institutional Research provides information support to the senior administration of Temple University for the purpose of planning, decision making, and policy formation. In addition, this Department collects, analyzes and presents information to a broad spectrum of information consumers. It also monitors the accuracy and integrity of vital University statistics.

In support of this mission, the Department of Institutional Research is also dedicated to supporting the University efforts for efficient and quality data management, security, processing, and dissemination. In addition, the Department is committed to the accurate and timely production of routine and ad hoc reports on behalf of the University to appropriate requests for information from the federal, state, and other external agencies.
