Why I chose Temple: I wanted to find a place that would feel like home away from home. Temple was an instant match. With its diverse student body, I knew that I would be with students and faculty who are open minded and accepting, which has helped me easily adjust.
What I like best at Temple: I don’t want my knowledge limited to engineering. I also want to learn about business, philosophy and other subjects. So my friends, all who are studying different fields, have become my conduit for new knowledge. And I love weekly Temple events where I can meet other students and have new experiences like learning international dance steps or the infamous, friendship breaker game, Mafia.
What my Temple experience has taught me: It’s important to manage my time well, balancing studies, events and family. Also, I’ve come to understand that the more people you know the more influence you have. My network has helped me in so many ways, from finding an on-campus job to getting invited to a baseball match in Citizen Bank Park.
My goal: I would like to develop renewable energy technology. One of my dream companies to work for is Tesla.
My advice: Let go of your fears. From my first day at Temple this has been my biggest realization. My decision to challenge myself has created multiple opportunities for me, for example, such as becoming an International Residence Coordinator.
Favorite Temple activities: I love attending on-campus events like Fun Free Food Friday Nights. Also, I enjoy both playing basketball and attending Temple basketball and football games for free.
Favorite Temple foods: At the food trucks I love crepes, Insomnia cookies, or my usual takeout, chicken over rice. Places/foods on my must-eat list include the Mongolian Grill in Morgan Hall and wing nights at Johnson and Hardwick Hall.
Favorite Philadelphia food: I highly recommend the roast pork sandwich at John’s.
Favorite Philadelphia: I have three things that I love doing in Philadelphia--cycling around the city and the Schuylkill River, trying the infinite number of Center City restaurants, and going to concerts year round.
