Aging in Place
Notes and References
In another module, we discuss the concept of "successful aging."
The key to successful aging is to live independently, making our own decisions, and engaging in enjoyable activities as long as possible. Aging in place can promote successful aging and improve our physical and emotional well-being, as well as overall life satisfaction.1 People feel better when they have the freedom to choose what they like to do and when they get to stay in a place they know. Living in our home provides us with the opportunity to continually do things we have always done and engage in community activities with friends and family as we wish.
